Design Process

Here are the general phases of a project.

Phase One

In this phase, we will connect via Google Meet or Zoom to discuss project requirements, timeline, fees, and payment methods.
If we continue working together, I will prepare a contract outlining the services, deliverables, timeframe, fees, and payment method, which you can review and sign.

phase two

In this phase, the magic happens.

I will design the assets as outlined in our agreement.
Web Design
I will design your site.

phase three

In this phase, your project becomes a reality. Both services require final approval.
Brand Identity
I will deliver the assets.
Web Design
I will launch your site.

CLIENT PREPARATION

Here are some questions to consider when we meet.
There is no need to have all the answers. We will figure out the project together at our meeting.

General Questions

Are there any specific deadlines I should be aware of?
I am unable to take on rushed projects.
Do you have a budget?
Please let me know when we meet.
Do you have any legal or compliance guidelines we need to follow?
Please ensure that all provided materials (such as logos, trademarks, images, videos, or other branded assets) comply with your intellectual property guidelines.
Additionally, make sure that any third-party content, such as music, stock images, or videos, is properly licensed and used with permission to avoid copyright infringement.
When it comes to hashtags, only use those that are approved or aligned with your brand's standards, including any branded or trademarked hashtags. This will help protect your brand, maintain consistency, and ensure compliance with legal standards.
do you want me to create from scratch, or would you like me to refine and build upon ideas/designs you’re currently exploring?
Both options work — it really depends on what feels best for you.
If you’d like me to create from scratch, I’ll guide you through my full process, starting with discovery and moving into design/strategy. You don’t need to bring anything but your vision.
If you’re exploring with your own ideas, I’ll honor what you’ve already started and refine it so it’s polished, cohesive, and aligned with your goals.
Either way, my role is to make sure you end up with something professional, intentional, and uniquely yours.

Brand Identity Questions

Think about word associations, such as high-end, bold, modern, etc.
What are your core values?

Share visual examples by sending files or links. It can be anything that evokes a feeling or mood, such as places you admire or fonts you like. Every detail helps!

Consider the tools you are using and your content creation process, or if you would like to expand in the future.
Who are your colleagues?
Knowing who else is doing similar work helps me provide unique designs tailored to you.

Web Design Questions

Do you have a domain and web hosting?
Understanding the difference between a domain and web hosting. Web hosting involves connecting your website to a server, while domain hosting involves securing a web address or domain name for your website.
Do you use a web platform already?
I have experience with Squarespace, Webflow, and Wix. Please let me know if you use another web platform.
Do you have copy (write-ups)?
I am not an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert. I highly recommend hiring an expert for this or any other services related to this.
What is the site's purpose, and who will be responsible for updating the site?
For example, is it for a portfolio, company, e-store, or blog?
Are you active on social media? Which platforms do you prefer, and why?
It is important to know which platforms you are focusing on and where you have an established presence.
How often do you post, and what type of content do you share?
Knowing this helps me understand your content strategy and how often you engage, which can guide growth and connect with your audience.
How would you prefer to communicate and collaborate on the social media strategy?
It is important to ensure we are aligned on communication and collaboration, making the process smoother and more efficient.
Would you prefer to approve posts directly, or should we create a content calendar for your review?
It is important to clarify so we can align on the approval process and ensure content meets your expectations before posting.
Do you use a social media scheduling tool?
This tool lets you plan and automate posts in advance, saving time and ensuring consistent content. It helps maintain a strong presence, optimize posting times, and streamline campaign management.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Do you only work with women?

My work is rooted in supporting women — especially disabled and creative entrepreneurs — because that’s the space I understand most deeply. That said, I’m always open to working with anyone who feels aligned with my approach and is committed to a supportive, collaborative experience. What matters most is mutual respect and a shared desire to grow together.

Do you offer services outside of your packages?

Yes. Packages provide a helpful starting point, but many projects are customized based on individual needs, scope, and pace.

Are you currently accepting new clients?

I work with a limited number of clients at a time to maintain quality and care. Availability varies, so the best way to find out is to reach out directly. I am available on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM PST and will respond as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. I am currently working with U.S. - based clients only.

About

Hello, I am Maria Hernandez. I believe Italy is a feeling, not just a destination — a slow, intentional exhale where beauty and connection thrive. I bring that same philosophy to my work and to the way I move through Los Angeles.
As a disabled Latina businesswoman, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating systems that weren’t built with everyone in mind. That lived experience shapes how I collaborate: I listen closely, move with care, and take the time to understand what truly matters to you.
My approach is grounded in trust, clarity, and long-term thinking. Each project is shaped around the person behind it — with flexibility, respect for pace, and an emphasis on creating work that feels meaningful, not rushed.
